Four Electrocuted in Ibadan, Many injured.

Many persons have been killed while several others sustained various degrees of burnt after a power surge that recently occurred in Olomi Community area of Ibadan, Oyo State.



The victims were those who had their homes directly located under the high-tension cables.

Because of this occurrence, the Nigeria electricity services agency has commanded the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) to desperately disable all cables and other installation within its consumer base across the country.
The Chief Electricity Inspector of the alliance, Peter Ewesor gave the order amid a sympathy visit to the dispossessed families in Ibadan. 

The DMD of IBEDC, John Oyedele, affirmed that the links in the influenced region were substandard and due for a refresh before the debacle. 

"We have just begun the preventive measures since we realized that the line was substandard. There are numerous like that. Also, on the off chance that you ask why we haven't done it before now, we have been doing others. Along these lines, it was simply before this was beside that shockingly, this pitiful episode happened," he said.
